This weeks photos are of the marriage records for Garnet and Georgia's parents. The courthouse in Macon County Tennessee has burned multiple times, the last in 1908, but luckily both couples married after 1908 so we have these records.
When Georgia was a young girl the family moved to Westmoreland and Carson and Edna ran the switchboard. There was a gully between the switchboard office and DD Watkins house. A bad storm came up and Carson, Georgia and Edna started to the Watkins(they had a storm cellar) the storm got so bad they took refuge under a bridge that went over the gulley, when the rain let up a little bit they started on to the Watkins house just after they left the gulley a large rush of water came down the gulley, and they just missed getting washed away.
"One time that Carolyn remembers seeing Mom really angry at Dad("we thought she was going to kill him") involves the cousins. Dad had built a silage trench and filled it up with silage. Carolyn, Joan, Dot and Pat had jumped into the silage to pack it down until they were literally green, and Mom wasn't to happy"
